With success of ELSA 2019 – 14th Asia-Pacific Congress of Endoscopic and Laparoscopic Surgeon of Asia with the theme of “MIS United : The One World” which held during November 21-23, 2019 at Shangri-La Hotel Chiang Mai, Thailand, more than 1,200 international and Thai participants attending the Congress proves that ELSA 2019 is well guaranteed and acknowledged this year.
Dr. Suthep Udomsawaengsup, ELSA 2019 Congress President, delivered the welcome message that it is very great pleasure that Chiang Mai, Thailand. Why Chiang Mai? It is capital of Northern Thailand to be the venue to welcome all distinguished guests as history has on the city’s infrastructure, and traditions. Since 1996, we do hope all guests would enjoy the academic and activities we have provided.
Dr. Alfred Allen E. Buenafe, ELSA President, stated that ELSA 2018 was successfully held in Malaysia, and ELSA 2019 would surely be the effective academic and lecture about surgery which is beneficial to all attendants. With the theme “MIS United : The One World” to bring 9 societies around the world together in this Congress, ELSA Congress would grow stronger and better from now on.
At the end of Opening Ceremony session, ELSA 2019 presented Phet Viriya who is the famous master in wooden carving representing the masterpieces and processes which referring to the must-have determination and passion as same as surgeon who not only grab knowledge from text book but also work harder to make the master piece with practicing and finding tune skills with the key message “Practice does not make perfect but perfect practice makes perfect.”
Moreover, the special events to exclusively welcome and thank you all invited faculties called “Presidential Dinner” on November 21, 2019 was taken at Rati Lanna Chiang Mai. With Lanna style pre-function activities, elegant performances and Loy-Kra-Thong activity which made all faculties enjoy and touch of perfect hostess and hospitality.
Last but not least, the special event to thank you for all participants “Congress Dinner” on November 22, 2019 at Khum Khantoke, Chiang Mai to welcome for all faculties, delegates, and exhibitors to get the opportunity to mingle around. To enjoy and have fun with Thai performances and official announce the closing ceremony to the next host – Japan who will host ELSA 2020.
